Stone Staircase Installation on Sloped Landscape

Transforming a sloped yard can be quite a challenge, but we're always up for the task. In this project, we installed a stone staircase on a steep slope in Dent, MN, right behind a beautiful lakeside home. This wasn’t just an ordinary task; it required precision and thoughtful planning to ensure every stone aligned perfectly and could stand the test of time and weather.

We began by assessing the slope to understand the best way to work with the natural landscape. The goal was to create a functional pathway that connected the house to the lower parts of the property seamlessly. After mapping out the path, we carefully selected weather-resistant stones that would not only complement the surrounding environment but also provide durability.

The installation process was step-intensive–pardon the pun–but rewarding. We worked to excavate the slope meticulously to place each stone along the planned path, securing each piece firmly into the earth. The heavy equipment used needed to be handled with care to avoid disturbing the surrounding grass and landscape.

Each step was leveled and tested for stability, ensuring a safe and beautiful transition from top to bottom. It was quite satisfying to see the finished pathway make such a practical difference in the property’s accessibility, enhancing both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the landscape. The new stone staircase now provides an inviting entryway that blends in harmoniously with the natural surroundings.
